DOCUMETA

DOCUMETA 元宇宙科幻文献展

a metaverse science fiction exhibition

DocuMETA, a metaverse science fiction exhibition, part of the “Eastern Fantasy” Metaverse Sci-Fi Fest 2.0 is curated by MYStudio directors Anna Borou Yu and Min Jiajian, and executed by Tongzhou Yu with the team of the Institute of Media and Interaction Design, School of Design and Innovation of China Academy of Art.

DocuMETA is the combination of Documenta and Metaverse, first proposed by MYStudio.

DocuMETA is a comprehensive manifestation of materialization and technology. From "language is the border of thinking" to "using fantasy as a medium to open up the possibilities of thinking", the multifaceted world of anti-gravity is presented. In addition, through eight scenarios themed “Fractal”, “Wonder”, “City”, “SuperHero”, “Chaos”, “Re-enchantment”, “Fantasy” and “System” respectively, and two special rooms “Dark Room” and “Reading Room”, the composite relationship with the surface (artworks as spaces), the line (paths of conversion between spaces), the point (audience as digital bards) and the core (the central venue for communication), forming compound relations and guiding the audience into a land inaccessible in the real world.

In conjunction with the theme of "Eastern Fantasy," this exhibition responds to the imaginary of temporal and spatial homogeneity in Chinese aesthetics with a rhythmic arrangement. The works of science fiction writers and academic discussions, manuscripts and notes, translated visual and multimedia materials, and even artifacts from their working lives will be placed together in the exhibition space, bringing the viewer into a context that both mirrors and expands each other, stimulating new ideas and perspectives.
